My ceramic pieces explore the themes of memory, relationship, and balance. I am inspired by the natural world, and the way in which both materials and emotions can change over time.

Coming from a background of functional ceramics, I have gained an understanding of materials and skills in creating with clay. Moving towards more abstraction, I am exploring color, environment, surface, texture, layering and spontaneity.

Working within a structure of the forms, I strive towards more improvisational techniques regarding the surface of the work. My goal as an artist is to evoke feelings of the changes that occur with the passage of time, and to create objects that invite the viewer to reflect on the unspoken feelings we encounter in our lives.
